In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, dealt with the elderly
Islam has been keen to honor humans, especially in their old age. At this stage, he is in dire need of service and assistance.
We have the right of our elders: to respect them: He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: (He is not among us who does not have mercy on our young and respect our elders). Al-Tirmidhi and authenticated by Al-Albani.
And from being polite to them is to hasten to go to them: When the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, entered Mecca as a conqueror, Abu Bakr brought his father to him, and the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to him: (Will you leave the old man in his house so that I can go to him there?) Ahmad, and he rated it as good Al-Albani.
They are more deserving of honor and companionship: An old woman came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said to her: (How are you? How are you? How were you after us?)
She said: You and my mother are well, O Messenger of God.
When she came out, Aisha said: O Messenger of God, come to this old woman so warmly!
He said: (She used to come to us at the time of Khadija, and a good covenant is part of faith.) Al-Mustadrak, authenticated by Al-Albani.
They are more deserving of being given priority in speeches, gatherings, and other things out of respect for them. Two men came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, to talk to him about a problem. The younger one spoke, and he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Grow great, great.” Al-Bukhari. That is, let the eldest begin speaking.
When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, irrigated, he would say: (Start with the big one) Abu Ya’la, with a strong chain of transmission.
And always remember - my brother in God - that you may live long and become elderly, so treat people today as you would like them to treat you tomorrow, and remember that as you judge, you will be judged.
